Hello and Welcome (Back)!

I’m Delaney: a long-time reader, first-time author. I started Sequels & Scribbles in 2025 before life (inevitably) got in the way, but my fingers have been itching to get back to the keyboard. Sometimes, a brief hiatus is all you need. Boy, I’ve missed having a space to talk about books with people who love them as much as I do.

A few things about me, in case you forgot—or if you’re new here (I’m so happy you’re here!):

• I’m originally from Nashville, TN, but now call Austin, TX home. Every couple of months, the travel bug sinks its teeth into me, so you’ll usually find me exploring somewhere new and racking up Southwest miles. Since I travel a lot, I always aim to tie literature into my trips, whether that’s visiting local bookstores, reading destination-based books, or visiting iconic spots mentioned in a story.
• I read 180 books in 2025, and I’ve already hit 100 in 2026. Honestly, I’ll read just about any genre you put in my hands, but my current favorites are romance, fantasy, literary fiction, and thrillers.
• I’m not a very harsh reviewer. If the vibes are right, a book is usually a 4-star read for me. A 5-star rating, however, is pretty elusive.
• I’m currently working on an interconnected standalone contemporary fiction and romance series. It’ll be my first time writing something that’s not fantasy, so I’m equal parts excited and terrified to try writing something a little more grounded in reality. We’ll see how it goes.
• When I’m not reading (a rare occasion), I’m probably running, playing soccer, trying new restaurants, testing new recipes, or hosting elaborate themed dinner parties for my friends with far too much food.
